About the Wine

This 2006 Merlot was grown in Burgess' estate vineyard just south of Yountville, in the Oak Knoll AVA. This region of the Napa Valley is ideal for bringing Merlot to full maturity, with vines that are oriented north/south so that they capture both morning and afternoon sun, thus producing a full-bodied, rich, complex wine with a long-lasting finish.

Dubbed the "Cab-lover's Merlot", it remains consistent with our prior releases, but with even more chocolate in the finish. The main fruit flavors are varietally correct with blueberries and black cherries and a hint of mint, (from eucalyptus trees growing alongside the vines).
